The American Autism Association and Inclusive Education Project hosted an interactive workshop about the “nuts and bolts” of special education on August 26, 2021.

During this workshop, we discussed general aspects of special education law: the IDEA, parent's rights, assessments, eligibility categories, resolving disputes, school/college transitions, and more. We also dove into all things Individualized Education Plan (IEP): what is an IEP, how to get an IEP, and what should be in an IEP. The goal of this presentation was for our attendees to leave with a better understanding of special education law and how to advocate for their child.

If you missed this event but are interested in watching the webinar, you can see a recording of the webinar and resources provided below.
