On June 12th, the American Autism Association held an #AutismGoals: Special Needs Soccer Clinic at Belson Stadium in Queens, New York. The event was a complete success, as evidenced by the smiles on the faces of the participants and the feedback that we received from parents afterwards.

We had the pleasure of welcoming instructor Stephan Rigaud from Embracing the Grind Goalkeeping to lead the clinic. His soccer expertise, in combination with a background working with children with special needs, created an enriching and enjoyable experience for all of our participants. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we were able to have the participants each working one-on-one with a volunteer partner to guide them. Parents sat in the stands, cheering on their children and watching them practice the skills that they learned throughout the day.

After retreating for a short lunch break sponsored by Donasity, our energetic participants returned to get their final goals in before the awards ceremony. Each participant was presented with a certificate and applauded in celebration of their achievements during the day of soccer fun.

Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram or like our page on Facebook, as we have tons of events and volunteer opportunities available in the upcoming months.

Thank you to all that attended #AutismGoals and to all that continually support the American Autism Association, without your donations we would not have been able to host such therapeutic programs.
