The Rockin’ For Autism music festival is coming back Sunday, April 28, 2019. The festival will feature 12 live bands, food, and games, all in support for autism. Going from 11am to 6pm in La Grande Park in Fanwood New Jersey. Some popular artist include a Bruce Springsteen tribute band called The BStreetBand and Eric Harrison, as well as many other solo performances.
Rockin’ For Autism was started by New Jersey resident, Mallory Banks after she was inspired by her 19 year old brother, Ethan who is on the spectrum. Since the start of Rockin’ For Autism in 2011, Banks has raised more than $52,000. Making her one of the top ranking autism awareness ambassadors in her state.
In addition to music, the festival will also feature the annual Rockin’ For Autism bake sale. Which continuously brings in a mass of revenue that is then donated to various autism related charities and nonprofits.
There will also be plenty of games and activities that are sensory friendly for children on the spectrum. Including obstacle courses, soccer, basketball, skateboard lessons, pet therapy, and a balloon artist. In the event that the festival becomes over stimulating, there is a designated quiet room, where attendees can have time to themselves.
