Tuesday, December 3, 2019 will mark Giving Tuesday – a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.

In the spirit of the giving season, here are 3 ways you can help make a difference in the autism community this year.

1. Donate
Many people use Giving Tuesday as a chance to donate to their favorite causes. Your contributions help the American Autism Association maintain and expand our therapeutic recreational programs and educational resources. Every dollar helps make a difference. Give today!

2. Volunteer Your Time
If you’re able to, consider volunteering your time on the Tuesday or if that day doesn’t work you can make a pledge on Tuesday to volunteer for the future. Though #GivingTuesday is typically a virtual movement, there are plenty of organizations that are in need of hands-on help – for example, you can join us at ourballet clinic in New York City that Saturday.

3. Start Your Own Fundraiser
Starting your own fundraiser is a fantastic way to rally your community to help make a difference in the autism community. Whether it be through Facebook or our online fundraising platform, you can encourage friends and family to donate $5, $10, or $20 to help you reach your fundraising goal. Every little bit counts.

Don’t forget Giving Tuesday is December 3rd. And use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and #MyAutism to raise awareness and share your story on social media!
