EcoAutism Initiative: Making the World of Autism NY a Cleaner, Greener Place

At the American Autism Association, we believe a happy, healthy child is one who is empowered to fully be and express him or herself, and that includes having the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy nature.

The environment is indeed in peril, but there is so much we can do together to turn the tide. Join us in our efforts to create more healthy spaces for children with autism by donating recyclable electronics items to our cause.

• Calculators
• Laptops
• Video games
• And more

We’ll make sure your donations are recycled safely—and you can get double the feel-good factor, knowing that you’re supporting our autism programs while helping clean up the environment at the same time.

How Does Recycling Help Increase Our Autism Funding?

It may seem too good to be true…but it isn’t. Donating something you were planning to toss anyway really does help generate funds for our nonprofit work.

That’s because the battery recyclers we work with donate $5 to our autism programs for every pound of donation we send their way. And of course, these battery-recycling specialists ensure that our collective home electronics are recycled safely, keeping toxic heavy metals out of our water supply, reducing landfill, and reducing the need for manufacturing new products.

For every donation of at least one pound, we will send you a thank you letter stating the value of your donation, which may be useful come tax time.
